The difference six months can make

Hey bobbers,

It’s been almost six months since my last post, and since then, a LOT has changed.  I earned my teaching credential, found out I’m going to be an aunt, and got married! My husband and I have been together for almost ten years, and though I always knew we would get married, nothing can explain the feeling I had walking down the aisle to make it official. I love being a missus!

The week of the wedding, my skin broke out something fierce.  I purchased a Groupon for a facial, but when I called for an appointment, I found out the facialist was out of town on vacation! In a panic, I contacted my friend Anna, and she recommended Jun’s Beauty Salon in San Francisco (http://www.yelp.com/biz/juns-beauty-salon-san-francisco).  For $80, Jun gave me an extremely thorough two-hour facial that left my skin significantly clearer within two days.  Anna (and Jun), you saved my skin! :)

Do you Groupon?

You’ve probably seen the ads on Facebook – “Get $40 worth of sushi for $20.” Though these ads may seem too good to be true, they’re not.  Groupon is just one of several voucher companies that negotiate huge discounts—usually 50-90% off—with popular businesses.  Customers get great deals, and businesses get new customers.  It’s a win-win situation.  I’ve bought several vouchers from different companies, such as Living Social, Groupon, and Home Run. They’re a great way to try a new business in your area for half price.

Bay Area Bloggers Unite! iFabbo hosts its first event!

Being a blogger can sometimes get lonely.  Most of our work is done solo, and many of us know each other only through cyberspace. That’s why I jumped at the opportunity to attend iFabbo’s first beauty and fashion blogger event.  iFabbo (International Fashion & Beauty Bloggers’ Organization) promotes the blogging profession as well as individual and professional growth. They provide a platform for education, support, resources and up-to-the-minute government guidelines and rulings so members can remain informed and build their own credibility within the blogosphere.  iFabbo allows fashion and beauty brands to interact and work directly with bloggers within the industry that they ordinarily may not be able to reach. Brands are educated on “best practices” when dealing with bloggers and other on-line influencers as well as have the opportunity to participate in large and prestigious events.
