Best FNO ever?

Ah New York – the land of fast walkers, straight talkers, and FASHION! I’m quite happy living in San Francisco, but every year, around September, I get a little heartsick thinking of what I’m missing – Fashion’s Night Out, of course!  I know there are FNO events around the country, but let’s be honest, NY FNO is where it’s at.  Fashion’s Night Out kicks off New York Fashion Week, and is an after-hours celebration where celebrities, shopping, shmoozing, drinking, and live music collide.

Marc Jacobs + Minx = Mischievous Manis for Fashion’s Night Out!

You’ve all heard of Minx right? Minxis the go-to manicure for celebrities and fashionistas alike. Minx is a revolutionary film that adheres to nails using heat, instead of chemicals or glue, and lasts up to 4 weeks! So what’s better than a Minx manicure? A Minx manicure designed by the always-cool Marc Jacobs! This year, for Fashion’s Night Out,  Marc by Marc Jacobs will be giving away custom Minx nails with any Marc Jacobs purchase at Saks New York Fashion’s Night Out Event, Bloomingdales Soho Lucky Magazine Event, and Bloomingdales 59th Street Grand Reopening Event.  Famed New York celebrity nail stylist Lisa Logan will be offering professional applications.

Sadly, I’m in SF, so if anyone can get me a pack of these babies, I will be forever indebted to you! :)

The very-exclusive collection comes in five prints based on Marc’s fall collection, two floral prints, and a yellow and black zig-zag that is sure to stop traffic.

My bad

Hey guys,

I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted. I’m sorry about that.  Things have been crazy lately.  I’m student teaching full-time, working part-time, and trying to plan a wedding.  Sadly, BoB has suffered because of it.  But no more! I vow to post at least once a week, and to keep you all up-to-date on the latest beauty trends, exclusive sales, and reviews. As always, thank you for your loyalty and support.

Stay beautiful!

New Nail Trend – Crackle Nail Polish

As a recessionista (yeah, I went there), I do my own nails.  I usually  prep, then paint my nails a solid color, or buy falsies from Walgreens when I’m feeling fancy (they’re awesome by the way, so don’t hate!).  That said, I’m always looking for a way to amp up my nail game without breaking the bank.

While reading NecoleBitchie.com the other day, I saw a post about Crackle Nail Polish.  Some of you might remember CoverGirl’s Crackle polish from back in the day.  Applied over your nail color, it cracks as it dries for a cool, edgy effect. Luckily for us, Crackle Nail Polish is back! Teaming up with Katy Perry, OPI has created a collection that includes 4 shades based on Perry’s songs (Teenage Dream, Not Like the Movies, Last Friday Night, and The One That Got Away) AND Black Splatter, a crackle top coat that helps you get celeb-ready nails in a jiffy. The result? Super cool nails! Check out The Katy Perry Collection by OPI below, and get it crackin’!

The Katy Perry Collection by OPI will be available starting January 2011, at ULTA stores (www.ulta.com), for $9.

Bay Area Bloggers Unite! iFabbo hosts its first event!

Being a blogger can sometimes get lonely.  Most of our work is done solo, and many of us know each other only through cyberspace. That’s why I jumped at the opportunity to attend iFabbo’s first beauty and fashion blogger event.  iFabbo (International Fashion & Beauty Bloggers’ Organization) promotes the blogging profession as well as individual and professional growth. They provide a platform for education, support, resources and up-to-the-minute government guidelines and rulings so members can remain informed and build their own credibility within the blogosphere.  iFabbo allows fashion and beauty brands to interact and work directly with bloggers within the industry that they ordinarily may not be able to reach. Brands are educated on “best practices” when dealing with bloggers and other on-line influencers as well as have the opportunity to participate in large and prestigious events.
